Another new style fly

Post  Charlie G. on 2/12/2014, 7:21 pm

I always wanted to tie up a variation of a "Squimpish" pattern fly.
I got the first one done to my liking   cheers
I doubt the striped ones will like it but I can't wait to throw it to the blues to destroy it  lol!
Old Man Bob will be proud of me for that

That is certainly 'squimpish' all right. Nice fly, Charlie, I do like your style.

Thanks guys. I love tying these crazy patterns.
Etch your right, that fly pulses and looks so buggy and always has some movement when it is in the water.
I have another in the vice right now, a gray and black. The design I believe first came from salmon flies called intruders.

Just finished these up tonight.

Here's a few pictures of the same flies after being wet down to see the final shapes.
They have a nice profile and a sparse look that doesn't hurt the profile.

The bucktail belly on this next one went back to it's dry just tied shape when it dried out.

And here's one of a few flies on their way to Fishfactor in Georgia. My variation of a shad baitfish.
