Latest improvements to your sand sleds

Post  Charlie G. on 3/9/2009, 6:49 pm

What improvements did you make on your sand sled sence last season ?? I put a dual battery system in my 00 Tahoe and another Sears platnum battery. I had trouble with those Optima batterys, never own one again.
Plus a Thule ski rack on the roof to carry my 11ft and longer 1 piece rods.
I might add a rechargable light for at night to see in the back for tackle and baiting rigs. But for now my head lamp works good.
How about you guys any new improvements this year ??

Got a set of Tire Valve Cap Tethers late last year. No more fumble fingers and dropping them or having them blow away in the wind.

Just flipped the seats down in my jeep... put 2 sets of drawers along one side to hold all my tackle, rigging something up inside to hang my rods from when I break them down.

Actually skipped on the tackle bag. Ill have some photos this weekend of the setup i got, its a little bit rough right now and I need to play around with it to get it to where I want it. Just have my small tackle bag, and put plastic rubbermaid drawers in the back to hold a ton of tackle trays that I can just pull what I need from at will and rotate it into my bag as needed.

just got some new revos for my trailblazer and had the tech tighen up the contorsion arms (did i spell that right?), to level out the front. can't wait to drive on the beach to see and feel the difference, no more sand plow, now all i need is a new cooler rack, if anyone has any input on cooler racks or someone that makes one i'm all ears.

I also went with this CO2 system to fill the tires ion the truck because I didn't want to wait 10 minutes to fill each tire with a compressor. With this it's only a matter of minutes to fill all of the tires. One 10# tank will fill over 40 tires--not bad for 25.00 to fill the tank.

Re: Latest improvements to your sand sleds

well I was out of work and bored so I put a K&N air intake on my 99 Tahoe.
It was an easy 2hr install and so far so good.
I haven't noticed any improved mpg yet, but it's only been a week.
Heaven knows whats next.
